Coming Up THIS WEEKEND: Long Beach Comic & Horror-Con 5th Anniversary Show!

Long Beach Comic and Horror Con (#LBCHC) is a rising convention in the heart of Long Beach; held in the Long Beach Convention Center, it is returning for it’s 5th year and it is expected to be HUGE!

LBCHC is here for it’s 5th year! This event has come such a long way, grown so much, but still gives the fans and guests the anticipation of the following year. This will be my third straight year, and I can tell you just from the last two years, 2013 will not disappoint! LBCHC is generally more focused on comics and collectors; pop culture has slowly been increasing each year, as well as panels and popular guests. Artists and writers have the most connection with fans here, as it is a more subtle environment than the exceptionally larger cons.
A brief history/past of LBCHC: in 2009 to over 5500 attendees!

  • Stan Lee participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony
  • IDW, BOOM!, Top Cow, Lionsgate, Nintendo, Sony, and more companies have participated in LBCHC
  • LBCHC 2012 had over 10,000 attendees!
  • 2013 is in the making

This year has a HUGE lineup of artists, writers, and special guests! To make it simple, I will post the links but highlight here some of my favorites:

  • Eric Basaldua
  • BATT
  • Ryan Benjamin
  • Brian Buccellato
  • Amanda Conner
  • Noel Gugliami
  • Derek Fridolfs
  • Tom Hodges
  • Mark McCorkle
  • Rob Paulsen
  • Marc Silvestri
  • Alex Sinclair
  • LeeAnna Vamp
  • Vampy Bit Me

Long Beach Comic Con is also great for its wide array of panels; in smaller rooms and more spread out, you will be able to attend more and actually hear what the panelists or other attendees are saying! In the past I have attended a few artist & writer panels, a 501st Legion cosplay building panel, and a creating comics panel! A few notable this year:

This year at LBCHC also brings the Premiere Hollywood Props auction! You have the chance to win Bumblebee’s head!! Check it out early on Saturday to get your bids in!

Tickets are still available, $25 for Saturday, $20 Sunday, or $40 for a weekend pass. There are also a range of ticket packages and VIP packages with exclusive prints, gifts, and more! Get those tickets now!!

If you’d like some personal experience from the past, check out the next link; this is my experience from 2012.
