Gentle Giant Yoda in 3-D Glasses Mini-Bust Review

I picked up this piece from Gentle Giant at WonderCon 2012, in Anaheim, CA. I have the older Yoda Mini-Bust, holding the cane and his flute necklace, but just knew this would look fantastic next to my old one! Especially with the 3-D release of Star Wars Episode I: TPM, this was definitely a great addition to my collection, and for any fan in the Star Wars community! From Gentle Giant’s website: To celebrate the return of 1999’s Episode I: The Phantom Menace in 3-D, Gentle Giant presents a special commemorative exclusive Yoda mini bust. This highly-detailed, film-accurate collectible puts the Jedi Master in the theater seat, with a box of “Obi-Wan Cinemas” popcorn and a removable pair of “3-D” styled glasses which sport real red and blue cellophane gel lenses. This hand-numbered limited edition is accompanied with a certificate of authenticity. Available at WonderCon 2012 in Anaheim, CA! Although Disney screwed the Star Wars fans by canceling the 3-D releases of the rest of the Star Wars saga, the fans had the chance to at least see Episode I in theaters again. For the younger fans who never saw it in theaters the first time around, it was great seeing older generations bring their kids to this film! Gentle Giant jumped on the chance to bring to us a special release to celebrate the film; Yoda wearing 3-D glasses enjoying some popcorn at Obi-Wan Cinemas! Again, a highly detailed piece, with removable 3-D glasses that can be place on top of the head or over the eyes, with screen accurate colors and facial expression! Yoda’s robe rests down below his arms, with a popcorn kernel in one hand, the bag in the other, and his eyes focused on the 3-D release of The Phantom Menace! Deatiled down to the wrinkles and hairs on his head, this is one of my favorite pieces in my collection! A fun addition for a Star Wars fan, with an edition size of only 1200, it is no surprise this was quickly sold out by Gentle Giant!
