Gentle Giant Watto Mini-Bust Review

“Watto, the renowned junk dealer and pod racer fan played a big part in a young Anakin Skywalkers life, not knowing that Anakin would one day become the Sith lord Darth Vader.” Upon the re-release of Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace 3D, Gentle Giant, Ltd. designed this limited edition mini-bust of Watto, the junk dealer and former slave-owner of the young Anakin Skywalker. With an edition size of 1200, approximately 6.5 inches tall, Gentle Giant did a fantastic from all aspects of this piece. Everything from the minute color details and specks on the wings, arms, etc. to the accessories on his utility belt, and the curves and lines of the natural form of this Toydarian of Tatooine. Gentle Giant designed this mini-bust to to Watto examining the chance cube, which is well known for allowing Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn to take the young Anakin Skywalker away from Watto after the Pod-Race. Designed with one eye squinted and the other examining the chance cube, this mini-bust is one of the most detailed and highly precision when created. From the accurate colors of bluish-green throughout the arms, wings, body and head, the brown dirty-like belt, jacket and accessories, the broken tooth on one side of the mouth, even down to the pupils, the eyes look amazing. With Watto’s wings expanding out, one arm raised with the chance cube, and the other scratching his chin, Watto’s grim look of pondering sits very well on any Star Wars fan’s shelf. I am a very, very happy owner of this piece and thank Gentle Giant for another amazing job, well done with such high accuracy and precision to the movie likeness of this junk dealer.
